Roll: Artist in Residence, Music Video Director, Design, Backup Vocalist, Co-host of Crappy Awesome Podcast
Status: Completed 2012
For many years, I was closely involved with Southern California’s vibrant Hip-hop scene through my work with the creative collective, Diego Brown Project. As part of this community, I co-hosted over 200 episodes of Crappy Awesome Podcast, which has become a beloved community standard-bearer. Our guests included the likes of The Pharcyde, Rakka of Dilated Peoples, Fahim Anwar, Hasan Minaj, Kayla Carrera, 2Mex, Reverie and many more remarkable names in hip-hop, standup comedy, film and music.
In addition to my work behind the microphone, I also had the opportunity to perform as a back-up vocalist on stage in Hawaii and directed, shot, and edited numerous underground Hip-hop music videos. These experiences allowed me to hone my skills in storytelling and filmmaking, while also deepening my connections within the Hip-hop community.
