Hypnotizing the most sober audience as if they are reemerging from a hallucinogenic trip, the psychedelic pop art of American artist Dylan Eccleston examines his playful exploration of famous profiles seen in imaginative dreamscapes. The whimsical detail and masterful stroke-work consistently leaves viewers in a state of awe, which is then only exasperated when one discovers that Dylan is using only common house-paints on reclaimed canvases, yielding works that are both visually striking and physically durable. His paintings often feature iconic faces from popular culture, such as David Bowie, Andy Warhol, and Cheech Marin, many of which evolve into more abstract and surrealistic compositions that explore the collective unconscious. Adding yet more layers, the colors and appearance of Dylan’s pieces noticeably change depending on their environment. In the darkness, they become unique black light experiences, taking on a whole new chapter in the viewer’s visual journey. Dylan’s works have been exhibited at various Southern California festivals as well as in the harsh desert environment of Burning Man. His first gallery sitting is currently being prepped in Ramona, CA. He lives and works in San Diego, California.
